Edging Mulch Beds

There are many benefits to edging your mulch beds.
These are:

  • Aesthetically pleasing to the eye – Edging helps define the gardening space by marking it off from the rest of the yard.
  • Keeps mulch where it belongs – The underground portion of edging prevents the plant roots from growing outside the bed while preventing grassroots from invading the mulch bed.
  • Prevents mulch wash out – The upper portion of the edging keeps soil and mulch from washing out of the garden area, keeping the garden components contained.
  • Adds value to your landscape – A bed border cleans up the garden lines to make it look aesthetically pleasing. With several different design options available, the border is a way to add style and value to your garden.

There are many edging choices. They vary from hardscapes to natural (stone) to plastic and shovel edging.
